The octopus-shaped auditorium and the freshly painted old paint shop were brought together by raumlaborberlin as a new temporary meeting place at Spreepark. The name Flamingos is at once reminiscent of the amusement park's glamorous days and of the elegant water bird that one hopes will be the Spreepark's new resident when looking out from the auditorium through the trees at the Spree.

In very practical terms, Flamingos is a meeting place made possible in an interim period of park construction that aims to encourage engagement with nature, art, pleasure and ecology.
