FAQ

Facilities

Each of the four apartments and adjoining studios in Eierhäuschen is equipped with standard furniture (bed, table, wardrobe, chair, lamps, etc.). The communal working room and kitchen are also furnished. Computers or laptops can be brought along. We are happy to assist you in finding suitable places for artists' supplies and other work materials.

Support

The exchange between Berlin creatives and our residents is an important part of our programme. Joint excursions and exhibition tours, periodic curatorial meetings, and individual networking are all part of the residency programme, which is open to expansion according to individual interests.

Diversity

We welcome applications from BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals. We would be more than happy to consult with you before, during, and of course after the application process in a secure digital space on how we can best accommodate and facilitate your needs. We also welcome any feedback or suggestion you may have for our residency programme.

F&B

Both the restaurant and beer garden at Eierhäuschen attract a big crowd, especially on the weekend or during special events. The regular opening hours depend on the season. Currently, we cannot offer a discount for food and beverages sold. There are several grocery stores nearby.

Pets

Unfortunately, we cannot allow pets in the residence rooms, as they share the building with the exhibition spaces.

Inclusion

We welcome applications from individuals with disabilities. We have a low-barrier unit among the available residential rooms and studios. We would be more than happy to consult with you before, during, and of course after the application process in a secure digital space on how we can best accommodate and facilitate your needs. We also welcome any feedback or suggestion you may have for our new residency program.

Children

While we do not yet have the infrastructure in place to offer accommodation for children, we would be happy to discuss with applicants on a case-by-case basis which options we can arrange for them.

Mobility

In an effort to provide sustainable, low-emission transportation to and from the residency site, Spreepark Art Space offers company bicycles and a cargo bike at your disposal for the duration of your stay.

Sustainability

As an art space within a natural preservation area, we absolutely strive to meet all the key criteria for a sustainable coexistence of people and nature. Light conservation, noise control, waste avoidance, low-emission mobility, etc. We expect active support from our guests and welcome any suggestions on expanding our sustainability guidelines.

Presence

A residency requires presence. This means that we rely on maximal attendance of each member of the selected group at Spreepark Art Space throughout their residency, and we would like exceptions to be discussed in advance with us. This also applies to us. Our office is conveniently located just below the residency apartments. This way, we can be available for you during regular working hours and are open to any concerns and suggestions you might have.

Travel Costs

Spreepark Art Space will cover travel expenses for a single trip to and from the location for up to four group members. Together with the respective members of your group, we can determine whether you will book and be reimbursed yourself, or if our office will handle the booking for you.
